soak the Daal-rice in adequate water for 30 minutes after thoroughly rinsing them
strain post soaking and heat heat oil in a pressure cooker
add the red chillies, Bay leaf, cumin seeds and wait for the seeds to splutter
add the cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and pepper corns
followed by onions.sauté until onions are translucent
add the tomatoes next and dry spices
cook until tomatoes soften.sprinkle some water if needed
add the chopped vegetables next and sauté for 5-7 minutes
add the rice-Daal followed by salt
mix everything well and add 2 cups or adequate water to cook the veggies and rice
pressure cook for upto 2 whistles and open the lid once the steam had fully subsided
enjoy warm by adding a tablespoon of ghee before serving
